This hotel is located between the South Tyrolean and the Lienzer Dolomites and thus is an oasis for recreation during beautiful hiking and great mountain trips.

We offer you 28 individually furnished rooms and suites partially with balcony or bay. In addition to the listed facilities we offer you a stylish and historically furnished restaurant for romantic evenings and a orchard in front of the hotel.

The hotel offers, subject to availability, 4 special rooms with four-poster bed and traditional Tyrolean style furniture.

The hotel restaurant serves light and creative Tyrolean cuisine, complemented by exquisite wines from the Strasserwirt’s wine cellar. Superb cocktails and scrumptious snacks from the bar complete your visit to Hotel Baumgartnerhof.

Located between the South Tyrolean and the Lienzer Dolomites on the sunny side of the Alps this area offers innumerable possibilities for sports and leisure.

During summer you can ride bicycles, mountain bikes or indulge in hiking, climbing, horseback riding, golfing and much more.
During winter you can enjoy skiing, cross-country skiing, winter hiking, hiking with snowboots, or go snowboarding, tobogganing or ice skating.

Furthermore and within a radius of up to 35 km from the hotel you can visit many sights such as the Dreifaltigkeitskirche (church) in Strassen, the Pfleghaus in Anras (3km), Schloss Bruck in Lienz (castle, 24km away, open in summer only), Römische Ausgrabungen Aguntum (roman diggings, 24km), Stift Innichen (abbey) mit Museum (with museum, 20 km), pilgrimage Maria Luggau and basilica (20km) and the St. Nikolauskirche (church) in Matrei (35km).

By Car:
- Coming from the North/ Munich drive via Kufstein, Kitzbühel, Mittersill,
Felbertauern and Lienz in the direction of Sillian.
- Follow the road until you reach Strassen.

- Coming from the East/Klagenfurt travel via Villach, Spittal an der Drau and
Lienz to Strassen.

- Coming from the West/Bozen travel via Brixen, Bruneck, Innichen and
Sillian to Strassen.

Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 14 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled up to 8 days before date of arrival, 40 percent of all nights will be charged.
If cancelled up to 2 days before date of arrival, 80 percent of all nights will be charged.
If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.

Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome.
One child up to 6 years stays free of charge for an extra bed.
One child from 6 to 11 years is charged 50 % of the room stay per night and person for an extra bed.
One child from 11 to 14 years is charged 70 % of the room stay per night and person for an extra bed.
Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.
