History of the Grand Hotel, which was previously called the „Black Donkey Tavern“ goes back as far as the 17th century. It is the oldest tavern in this city in which a lot of important guests stayed overnight in the past. In 1872 for example Bedrich Smetana stayed here and sometimes Mr. Vaclav Havel the President of Czech republic is also staying here.

Breakfast ( buffet ) is included in the rate and will be served in the breakfast room between 7 and 10.30 am. Visitors pay CZK 150 / person / breakfast.

There is also a restaurant in the hotel which offers our guests delicious mediterranean as well as a Czech cuisine, available is also a wineroom with live music, congress hall and two launges. Capacity of the congress hall is 120 seats, capacity of the lounges are 15 and 45 seats. The restaurant is open daily from 10 am until 11 pm.

In the northeastern corner of the town's historic center is one of the most remarkable historic treasures of jindřichův hradec, the former minorite cloister and church of ST. John the baptist and a Later-Date hospital.
The centrally situated peace aquare of jindřichův hradec used to be dominated by a gothic town hall which has been rebuilt several times ( the first document referring to a repair of a stone town hall dates back to 1493).
The old town s dominant structure is a massive tower of the assumption of virgin mary provost church, situated on the 15th meridian.
The panská street connects the center of the old town district with zhe new town district, ending at the novoměSTSKé square ( I.E. New town square - masaryk square today ), one side of which opens into the municipal park, created by filling in the moat that once surrounded the castle and the old town.

Arrival by car: from prague
at the sign linz / ceske budejovice / benesov follow the motorway E50-E65-D1 for app. 86 KM. At the sign pelhrimov / havlickuv brod/humpolec take the exit 90 and follow the motorway humpolec for app. 250 KM. At the sign brno turn left and follow E551-34 for app. 43 KM, then you will reach jindrichuv hradec.

Arrival by car: from vienna
follow the motorway A22-E49-E59. At the sign "Korneuburg-Ost" follow the motorway "anschlussstelle korneuburg ost". At the sign "Stockerau-Nord/horn" take the exit 31 and follow the ramp e49 for 403 M. At the sign "wien/krems (s5) / tulln" follow B4-E49 for app. 50 KM. Follow l8002 for 4.7 KM until "Rosenburg-Mold". Follow B2-E49 for 13.2 KM until "brunn an der wild". Turn right, follow l54/ "wildbergstrasse" for 63 M.
Turn left, follow "brunner berg" for 338 M. Follow B2-E49 for 12.7 KM.
Turn right, follow the roundabout for 54 M. Turn right, follow b5 for 12.2 KM.
Turn right, follow the roundabout for 56 M. Turn right, follow b5 for 7.7 KM.
Turn left, follow l8142 for 2.9 KM. You reach "heidenreichstein" - from there take the b5 in direction "grenzübergang grametten / nova bystrice". Just follow the main street and after app. 15 KM you will reach "jindrichuv hradec - city centre"

arrival by public transportation:
"jindrichuv hradec" is the nearest bus & train station. Both are app. 1 KM away from the hotel. We also offer a pick up service.

Parking possibilities:
There is a garage, which guests can use at the rate of EUR 7 / day / car. If you stay longer, then you have to pay only EUR 5 / day / car.

Cancellations made up to 14 days before arrival date ( hotel local time ) are free of any charge. Cancellations made between 5 and 13 days prior arrival date ( hotel local time ) will be charged with 20% of the total amount. Cancellations made between 1 and 4 days prior arrival date ( hotel local time ) will be charged with 35% of the total amount. Cancellations made on the same day as arrival or in case of no show 50% of the total amount will be charged.
In case of early departure you have to pay 30% of the day rate.
The hotel reserves the right to pre-authorise credit cards prior to arrival.

Small children in the bed of parents pay nothing. Children between the age of 2 and 5 years will receive 50% discount. Children between the age of 5 and 8 years will receive 30% discount.
