The hotel is located in the heart of the baroque city of Eger, in an historic building built at the beginning of the seventeen hundreds. The windows of the five homely, air-conditioned apartments of the baroque building overlook the famous Eger Fortress. Dobó Square can also be seen, as well as Central Europe's only church built exclusively in baroque style - the Minorite Church.
Food & beverage
A first-rate Restaurant on the first floor of the House offers international cuisine. The pride and unequalled feature of the restaurant is a Guinness Book of Records picture made of sugar, depicting medieval Ottoman style life.
The ground floor houses a rustic wine-bar, with a choice of Hungarian dishes. Both places offer a complete selection of Thummerer Cellar wines, probably the most renowned and best winery in Eger.
Eger lies at the southern slopes of the Bükk Mountains 130 km from Budapest. Eger is an historic city and an historic wine region. Also called the city of wine, it is a renowned health-resort.
