Recently inagurated, the Merida Palace is located within two emblematic buildings in the historical centre of the city of Merida in the Spanish region of Extremadura, a city declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO is 1993. The Palacio de los Pacheco was built in 1802 and has hosted such illustrious guests as Queen Isabel II and her husband Francisco de Asis in 1879, King Alfonso XII in 1875 or King Alfonso XIII in 1905, guests that helped to raise the prestige of the magnificient palace, also home to an Arab-style patio built at the beginning of the twentieth century under the orders of the distinguished owner, Carlos Pacheco.

The second building, the Palacio de los Mendoza, an ancient Medieval resting place built on the foundations of a Roman construction, has been home to the Hotel Emperatriz since 1960. A sober building combining a Renaissance facade with Gothic interiors and a patio with porticos built in the 14 th. Century with tiles from Talavera. A work of art that has become a luxury hotel with 75 comfortable rooms and modern facilities which include a swimming pool, terrace, fitness centre and 9 meeting rooms for up to 200 guests.

The hotel offers an extensive breakfast buffet and Á la carte Restaurant El Cenador del Marqués, specialized in international dishes and the latest innovations in haute cuisine (open from 1.30pm to 4pm and from 8.30 to 11pm).

It also has a Bar/Cafeteria La Fuente with snack service and the Bar Plaza España with terrace.
