Il Keswick Hotel è un elegante edificio vittoriano costruito in un giardino ben tenuto e attraversato da sentieri, che si estende per circa 1,6 ettari. Nonostante si trovi in una posizione appartata, l'hotel è a solo 10 minuti a piedi dal centro città.

Grazie a 74 camere elegantemente arredate, sale confortevoli, oltre a colazioni e pasti prelibati, il Keswick Hotel è in grado di soddisfare le esigenze dei più esigenti.

Si prega di notare che in data 1 luglio 2007 entra in vigore la nuova legislazione per proteggere impiegati e pubblico dagli effetti nocivi del fumo passivo. Dopo un'attenta riflessione, si è deciso di rendere l'hotel interamente non fumatori. Fumare non è, quindi, ammesso né nelle camere né nelle aree pubbliche. Uno spazio fumatori sarà allestito fuori dalla struttura per ospitare chi desidera fumare. Siamo sicuri che gli ospiti ci aiuteranno ad ottemperare le nostre responsabilità legali per assicurare che non si fumi in albergo.

Purpose built as a railway hotel in 1865, the Keswick Hotel opened its doors for the first time in 1869, swiftly gaining a reputation as the leading hotel of the Lake District. Many famous visitors have crossed its threshold over the years, the most memorable being Queen Elizabeth II in October 1956.

Improved road links and the decline of local mining meant the railway ceased to function in 1972. However, the hotel purchased the old buildings and platform and continued to develop into the popular Lake District venue it is now.

All of the Keswick's 74 rooms are tastefully decorated, each offering a private en suite bathroom with bath and shower, along with a range of convenient amenities (see individual room details for a complete list). Most with views of the stunning Lakeland landscape.

Upgraded bedrooms are available for those guests wanting that little bit extra from their stay. Spacious station rooms have king-size beds, a welcome tray and complimentary dressing gowns. Junior Suites have a separate seating, with panoramic views of our gardens and the surrounding hills.

All rooms are accessible by lift, however, there may be a number of steps to negotiate along the corridors.

Close by is the bustling market town of Keswick, with its eclectic mix of shops, pubs and restaurants. For the adventurous, Lake Derwentwater offers a variety of water sports with numerous walks and mountain bike trails beginning at its shores. More energetic, but equally popular, are climbs to the summit of Latrigg, Skiddaw and Blencathra.

The hotel offers the prime location from which to visit many famous attractions throughout the Lake District, such as Lake Windermere, England's longest lake, The World of Beatrix Potter exhibition at Bowness-on-Windermere and the poet William Wordsworth's 1st home, Dove Cottage. However you choose to spend your leisure time, the Keswick Hotel is the perfect place to stay whilst exploring the delights of the English Lake District.

In macchina (dalla m6): uscire dalla m6 allo svincolo 40 e prendere la a66 (Keswick) per circa 40 km. Dalla rampa autostradale, prendere l'uscita a sinistra sulla a66, seguendo le indicazioni per Keswick town centre. Arrivati alla strada a forma di t, girare a destra, seguendo le indicazioni per Keswick town centre. Proseguire lungo questa strada, dopo aver passato la stazione di benzina della BP, e girare a destra su Station Road, seguendo le indicazioni per Leisure Pool. (Questo tornante si trova prima di un attraversamento pedonale dove c'è anche il monumento ai caduti, prima del tornante sul lato destro della strada). Dopo aver oltrepassato Fitz Park, proseguire su Station Road. Quando incontrerete una deviazione obbligatoria sulla destra per il Lesiure Pool, proseguite dritto fino ad arrivare al parcheggio dell'hotel. In macchina da Windermere/Ambleside: Dirigersi sulla A591 per Keswick e seguire le stesse indicazioni che vengono riportate sopra.
