Atención: A partir del 1º de julio de 2007 entrará a regir una nueva ley que prohíbe fumar en lugares públicos y después de considerarlo el hotel ha decidido que no se puede fumar ni en las habitaciones ni en ninguna otra área del de las instalaciones del hotel. Purpose built as a railway hotel in 1865, the Keswick Hotel opened its doors for the first time in 1869, swiftly gaining a reputation as the leading hotel of the Lake District. Many famous visitors have crossed its threshold over the years, the most memorable being Queen Elizabeth II in October 1956.

Improved road links and the decline of local mining meant the railway ceased to function in 1972. However, the hotel purchased the old buildings and platform and continued to develop into the popular Lake District venue it is now.

Upgraded bedrooms are available for those guests wanting that little bit extra from their stay. Spacious station rooms have king-size beds, a welcome tray and complimentary dressing gowns. Junior Suites have a separate seating, with panoramic views of our gardens and the surrounding hills.

All rooms are accessible by lift, however, there may be a number of steps to negotiate along the corridors.

Close by is the bustling market town of Keswick, with its eclectic mix of shops, pubs and restaurants. For the adventurous, Lake Derwentwater offers a variety of water sports with numerous walks and mountain bike trails beginning at its shores. More energetic, but equally popular, are climbs to the summit of Latrigg, Skiddaw and Blencathra.

The hotel offers the prime location from which to visit many famous attractions throughout the Lake District, such as Lake Windermere, England's longest lake, The World of Beatrix Potter exhibition at Bowness-on-Windermere and the poet William Wordsworth's 1st home, Dove Cottage. However you choose to spend your leisure time, the Keswick Hotel is the perfect place to stay whilst exploring the delights of the English Lake District.

En coche por la m6, Deje la M6 en la bifurcacion 40 y siga la A66 hacia Keswick durante aproximadamente 19 millas, deje después la A66 su. En el desvío T, tuerza a la derecha y continúe hacia el centro cuidad. Después de haber pasado la gasolinera BP, tuerza a la derecha, siguiendo las indicaciones para el centro de ocio.(tuerza justo después del paso de cebra). Verá una placa conmemorativa a mano dercha. Siga la Station Road y pase el Fitz Park. Cuando la carretera le obligue a seguir a la derecha en el Leisure Pool, continúe recto hacia el aparcamiento del hotel. En coche desde Windermere/Ambleside. Siga hasta A591 hasta Keswick, y siga después las mismas indicaciones.
