The George Hotel is situated in the attractive town centre of Penrith, amongst traditional shops and charming arcades.

This proud building, steeped in over 300 years of history, provides the ideal base from which to explore the Lake District and Eden Valley. To enter through The George Hotel's revolving doors is to experience tradition and quality in the warm and welcoming atmosphere of a gentler time. So step in, and share the experience. The hotel does not have a lift.

The restaurant offers both lunch and dinner, also a traditional Sunday lunch. The Oak Bar serves bar meals at lunch and in the evening.

By car From the m6, leave the motorway at Junction 40 from the south or 41 from the north. Follow the signs for Penrith town centre. Once you enter the town centre itself you will see 'Woolworth's' on your right. Immediately after that turn left. After a few yards the road opens up; our car park in entered via the archway on the right. By rail to Penrith. Continue by taxi, bus or walk. (1/2 mile) By air to Newcastle (90 miles) or Manchester (120 miles): continue by coach or train.
