Our guest house is situated at the bottom of the Karawanken, near the southern city Ferlach in Carinthia. It is 15 km away from Klagenfurt.

Here you can enjoy a healthy environment with clean air and pleasant scenery surrounding the house. It is also a good starting point for hiking and biking tours and there is an established culture in the close by areas.

The hotel offers - against charges - a variety of saunas (Finnish, Bio or Herb sauna variation), a marble-steam bath with smell and light therapy and massage with home-made Herb-oils. Activities at the hotel include basketball and there is a swimming pool in summer with a lawn for sunbathing.

All of our rooms are modern, with a high level of comfort.

All of our beds have a comfortable height of 55 cm. Some of our double rooms have adjustable beds, so that you can change it to a twin room. If you would like this, please let the hotel know in advance.

Every room is in a different colour, based on flowered herbs. Our rooms are non-smoking.

A rich selection including traditional Kaerntner and international kitchen as well as specialities from the herb kitchen. The basic products come often from the hotels own produce.

From Gasthof zur Post you can start hiking trips through the Alps (Karawanken). This part of Austria is known for its wonderful mountains and beautiful lakes. You can cycle along the river Drau for more than 120 km. You can enjoy swimming, fishing, sailing, cycling or playing tennis. For the more adventurous there is Parachuting or gliding.

In winter the most popular sports are Cross country skiing, skiing, ice skating or ice climbing. The Wörther Lake is only 15km away.

The craftsmanship of the rifle makers of Ferlach enjoy worldwide recognition. The manual skills of the rifle makers have been built up over hundreds of years to an excellent standard.

- From Villach Karawankenautobahn head in the direction of Slowenien (SLO).
- Take the last exit: St.Jakob. Then go in the direction of Feistritz/Ferlach.
- When you reach Kirschenther you will find two roundabouts. Always go toward "Loiblpass".
- After 1.2 km you will reach Unterbergen. There you will find a sign on the road "Gasthof Zur Post" on the right.

Children under 7 years old, in the same room with two adults, receive a 60% discount.
Children under 10 years old, in the same room with two adults, receive a 50% discount.
Children under 12 years old, in the same room with two adults, receive a 40% discount.
Children under 14 years old, in the same room with two adults, receive a 20% discount.
Children up to 14 years old staying in a separate room receive a 20% discount.

Please specify the age of your children when booking. For children under 4 years old, please let us know if you would prefer a baby bed or a normal bed.
