Grianan of Aileach (18 km) - The massive stone wall was probably built in the Christian era, but the bank and ditch surrounding the fort date to the early Iron Age.
Glenveagh National Park (24 km) - Some 16,540 hectares of mountains, lakes, glens and woods, with a herd of red deer. A Scottish style castle is surrounded by one of the finest gardens in Ireland. There is a Visitors Centre with displays explaining the park along with an audio-visual show.
By Car:
- From Derry, coming into Letterkenny, go through the roundabout at the Dry Arch and continue straight to the Ramelton Road Roundabout.
- Continue straight through towards Letterkenny town until you reach the Station Roundabout.
- Stay in the left lane and take the 2nd exit towards main street.
- At the traffic lights, Gallaghers is on the right-hand side.
