Combining the elegance of the Victorian age with every modern facility, the hotel occupies a premier position on the seafront overlooking the Western Lawns and Wish Tower, with superb views of Beachy Head.
The hotel's features include elegant lounges facing the sea, the attractive Regency Bar, 2 snooker and games rooms, (these help to make the hotel perfect for bridge weekends). It is also ideally situated for golf holidays, being close to 3 first-class golf courses, plus 200 acres of parks and gardens. In addition, the shops and theatres are within a four minute walk. The hotel also offers 22 lock-up garages at a nominal charge.

The Best Western Lansdowne Hotel is privately owned and has been in the same family ownership since 1912. It is this that has given the hotel a personal touch that is still very evident today.
The hotel offers 101 well-furnished rooms, 7 of which are doubles and 2 are single-bedded superior rooms, all south facing. Additionally, there are 3 spacious superior double family rooms, all inland facing. All superior rooms are equipped with bottled water and upgraded toiletries. Please note, there are a limited number of non-smoking rooms and although the hotel tries to meet your requirements, it can not guarantee availability.
The far reaching views of the sea and Beachy Head are breathtaking.
Food & beverage
Enjoy a traditional English Cuisine Menu within elegant surroundings, superb views of the Channel and excellent service. Sunday lunches are also available, coffee included.
Booking in advance is highly advisable. Smart Casual Dress policy applies (no trainers, denims, shorts or t-shirts). Recently refurbished and boasting magnificent views over the Western Lawns and the Channel. For dinner reservations, please advise the hotel on arrival or telephone in advance
The Congress Theatre is 100 metres from the hotel, and the Winter Gardens, Devonshire Park Theatre and grounds are just a 3 or 4 minute walk away. The theatres offer spectacular productions, backed up by 2 cinemas and entertainment on the 300 metre-long pier.
There is a wealth of picturesque villages in the surrounding areas, and Kent and Sussex boast glorious gardens, vineyards and historic homes, all waiting to be explored.
The cosmopolitan city of Brighton - 30 km.
Tunbridge Wells - 40 km.
By Car:
- Take the A27 or A22 motorway from London, or the A259 from channel ports. - The hotel is at the west end of the seafront facing Western Lawns.
By Plane:
Gatwick Airport is 40 miles from the hotel. London Heathrow Airport is 60 miles from the hotel.
By Train:
Eastbourne station is 1 mile from the hotel.
Please note that from 08 October 2007 onwards, parking directly outside the hotel will be metered.
Dogs will be charged £5.00 per night, thank you.

Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged.
