This family-run guest house has a prime location in a residential area, walking distance from local restaurants, bars and shops, and convenient for the station, hospitals, theatres, common, universities and airport.

The lovely, recently refurbished guest house is run by the proprietors, Alain and Sue Ridley, whose aim is to give you a warm welcome and provide a friendly atmosphere to make your stay memorable.

Banister House is a non-smoking hotel. Please note the hotel does not have a 24-hour reception. Check in must be by 21:00. If later than that, it is by request.

Breakfast is served from 07:00 until 08:00.

By Car
From London/Winchester:
- Take the M3, then follow the signs to the A33 and follow the signs to Southampton city centre.
- After approximately 2 miles, you will see a pub on the right-hand side called 'The Cowherds'.
- Take the next road on the right into Northlands Road.
- Take the first left into Hulse Road and go to the end of the road. Turn right into Banister Road.
- The hotel is just around the bend on the left-hand side.

From the city centre:
- Head north on the A33, following signs for the M3 and Winchester.
- When you reach The Avenue (a wide road with parkland in the middle), you will pass St. Edmund's Church on the left, then New College (University of Southampton).
- Take the second road on the left at the traffic lights (Hartwells Garage on the corner). This is Banister Road.
- The hotel is situated on the left-hand side around the bend.

From Eastleigh Airport:
- Turn left when coming out of the airport under the railway bridge.
- Turn left and follow the A335 link road onto Thomas Lewis Way (signposted to Portwood and city centre).
- Go straight through the next 4 sets of lights and turn right at the 5th (signposted to Shirley - 2 miles).
- Go through 2 sets of lights and you will be in Banister Road.
- The hotel is situated on the left-hand side around the bend.

Minimum cancellation notice required is 24 hours, otherwise the first night is charged. Banister House is a non-smoking hotel. Please note that you must call the main tel number to provide us with the security code, the last three digits at the back of your card, as it does not appear on the actual booking. Your reservation will not be considered valid otherwise. Thank you.

If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged.

All children are welcome.
All children up to 3 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.
All children up to 2 years stay free of charge for cots.
All older children or adults stay free of charge for extra beds.
Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.

Pets are not allowed.
