The concept for the Guldsmeden hotels is unique, and a very important feature is the focus on organic products. In all rooms you will find Guldsmeden's own manufactured organic shampoo and cream products.
The sumptuous organic breakfast buffet is a feature in all the Guldsmeden hotels and includes various types of high-quality bread, cakes, fruit and cheeses as well as homemade yogurt with vanilla and almonds.
Breakfast is served on handmade Mexican crockery and can be enjoyed in our lovely heated courtyard or in our restaurant.
Our spa at Axel is now ready for our resident guests or conferences, and it was worth the wait! Simple yet luxurious, the facilities will meet your needs in a beautiful and relaxing space.
Organic spa products
We do not have a regime of specific treatments, but have developed a wide range of fully organic spa products, including relaxing, detoxing or energizing salt, sugar and coffee scrubs, body & face oils and sprays, face & body cream and shampoos. We have been helped and inspired by natural health and beauty coach Charlotte Rachlin.
Facilities
AXEL Hotel Guldsmedens classical urban spa, in the signature Balinese-inspired Guldsmeden design includes a sauna, cold and hot tubs, steam bath with essential oils and meditation/yoga area.
Relaxation
As of Wednesday, May 7th, we will Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 17.00-17.45 and from 18.00-18.45, be offering open relaxation and stretching periods under the guidance of an experienced instructor.
We serve organic fruit juices, tea and fresh & dried fruit.
Opening hours:
Monday - Friday: 06-10 am & 16-22 pm
Weekends: 07-11 am & 16-22 pm
You do not need to book in advance – you are free to enjoy this oasis at your own leisure and convenience.
Price:
225,- per person. The price includes full use of the spa facilities and products for a full day, subject to opening hours. Ask at the reception.
Useful information:
All guests are required to wear bathing suits. Swimwear can be purchased at reception, price 150 DKK for one-size shorts or two-piece bikini.
Guests need to change in their rooms before entering the spa, housecoats and slippers are available in the room, towels can be found in the spa.
All rooms are furnished and decorated in Guldsmedens signature Balinese style with many beautiful details, which give the rooms individuality and character.

Vesterbro - the former red light district:
During the last 10 years Vesterbro has undergone a massive transformation and is no longer the bad neighbourhood where it was not entirely safe to go at night. Instead it is now an attractive and fashionable place to live and hang out.
Hang out at Halmtorvet:
On Halmtorvet, a former red light district in Copenhagen, a number of cafes and restaurants have opened during the last years and during summertime the sidewalks are crowded with tables of people sipping coffee.
Hip boutiques with unique clothing on Vesterbro:
Vesterbro, Copenhagen's former working class district, has become one of the city's most hip areas. The far end of Istedgade is a must for those seeking unusual fashion design. Many up-and-coming designers of clothing have established themselves with interesting boutiques and workrooms in the back. Parallel Vesterbrogade follows up with a number of good specialist shops.
By Car:
- From the City Hall Square simply follow Vesterbrogade.
- Turn left on to Reventlowsgade.
- Turn right on to Istegade and Helgolandsgade (one-way street) is the 2nd right.
By Bus:
From the City Hall Square you can catch bus number 6A, which will take you directly to the hotel (2 stops to Helgolandsgade).
From Copenhagen Airport (10 km):
Take a taxi from the airport or you can catch the train to Copenhagen Central Station. The journey takes about 15 minutes.
Walk directly to Axel using Istegade exit at the station. The walk takes approximately 5 minutes.

Cancellation
If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged.
